 Risoluzione schermo sotto Linux

Ho installato Fedora Core sul mio vecchio notebook e ho riscontrato un problema che mi era già capitato in passato e di cui non ricordo la soluzione:

dopo l'installazione avviando X lo schermo visualizzato è una porzione di quella del notebook

con altre distro non mi è mai capitato

da che può dipendere, è la distro che non rileva correttamente il tipo di monitor del mio notebook,

ho provato a modificare il file xorg.conf ma non ho ottenuto grossi miglioramenti,

dove posso guardare?

problema risolto, c'era qualche problema con il riconoscimento della mia vecchia scheda video,

ho impostato una scheda generica e ora è tutto ok :D

comunque le risoluzioni possibili le imposti nel file di configurazione di xorg (probabilmente /etc/X11/xorg.conf)

sì, sì, il file l'avevo trovato e ho settato anche la più bassa res. possibile ( 640x480 ) e m dava problemi, credo ci fosse proprio una questione di riconoscimento della mia scheda video,

impostando una vesa generic anche se non ho risolto :sbonk:, ho aggirato il problem :)
