 [GENTOO] freeze sistema

ogni tanto mentre sto usando X il sistema si freeza e lo devo spegnete e far ripartire col tasto d'accensione.
questo lo fa in maniera random, senza che faccia qualcosa di particolare: ieri per esempio non me lo ha mai fatto, oggi invece 2 volte in 1 ora.
nei log non vedo nulla
ora faccio cmq un test della memoria, ma non credo proprio sia dovuto a quello.
sto usando un kernel 2.6.14-suspend2 ma me lo faceva anche con un 2.6.14 gentoo-sources e anche con un 2.6.15 sempre gentoo-sources.
sto usando ati-drivers-8.14.13-r3
xorg versione 6.8.2-r6
gcc-3.4.4-r1
l'altra cosa che devo segnalare è il solito problema con modules-update che non riesco a risolvere

quello è l'ultimo errore che mi da prima di piantarsi
solo che ho notato che quell'errore me lo da anche se X non è avviato. In quel caso però il sistema non si pianta ma continua a funzionare correttamente

uso il monitor della batteria di kde
ora cmq sto provando ad usare X senza acpi
vedo se è realmente un problema di acpi
altra ipotesi sono i driver-ati. se si freeza anche senza acpi provo con i driver vga generici e vedo come si comporta
se fossero davvero i driver-ati magari provo con una versione precedente degli stessi

confermo che deve essere proprio un problema di acpi e + specificatamente del modulo della batteria o di qualche cosa d'altro che ha a che fare con la batteria e che freeza
indicazioni per poter usare cmq acpi senza questo prob?

Puoi provare a togliere il supporto della batteria (CONFIG_ACPI_BATTERY), oppure ad eliminare da X il programmino che monitorizza la batteria (perche' a quanto capisco, il problema si presenta quando qualcosa cerca di leggere lo stato della batteria e si becca l'errore dell'acpi)

Se è un bug del bios nella gestione dell'acpi prova a vedere se trovi la dsdt corretta sul sito apci4linux.
