From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I lov'd alone
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In it's autumn tint of gold -
From the lighting in the sky

Davvero bellissimo: mi hai messo la curiosità di leggermi qualcosa che ho in casa di Poe... l' ultima volta che lessi qualcosa di suo avevo 14 anni... |

lazer ti consiglio anche di ascoltarti la canzone ALONE degli arcturus, il testo è appunto quello di Poe.
L'album in questione è "La masquerade infernale". veramente spettacolare.
Poi beh se vogliamo rimanere inerenti alla letteratura consiglio vivamente anche "the marriage of heaven and hell" di William Blake, messo in musica dall'ononimo album degli Ulver. |

(mi rintrufolo senza invito)...Se si vuol leggere qualcosa in rima in inglese consiglio caldamente "The rime of The Ancient Mariner" di Coleridge...da leggere ripetutamente piu' e piu' volte...Non credo che possa mai dare la nausea. |
