Ho attaccato il mio videoregistratore al pc, desideroso di riversare sull'hd un po' di vhs carine... con fare arrogante e fiducioso oltre il dovuto mi son messo a registrare in .mpg (MPEG-2) a dimensione 720x576... accorgendomi che la registrazione andava un po' a scatti, un po' deluso, ho abbassato la risoluzione ad un più onesto 576x352... accorgendomi che la registrazione non era ancora fluida, a orecchie bassissime, ho settato la risoluzione a 352x288.
Domanda: che cosa può determinare questa scarsità di rendimento?
- hardware: ho un AMD Xp 2,4GHz e 512MB di RAM... e mi sembra abbastanza per cose del genere, no?
- scheda tv: l'ho comprata da poco... Terratec Cinergy400tv... certo non è professionale, ma è così impegnativo registrare a buona qualità?
- sistema operativo: mettendo in chiaro che non ho i soldi per un Mac (che sarebbe la cosa migliore), cambia qualcosa da una versione di Winzozz all'altra (io ho sempre il vecchio Win98)?
- driver: non c'entrano nulla, vero?
- collegamenti: ho provato sia a collegare il VCR tramite cavo antenna sia tramite scart-RCA, ma il problema sussiste... mi manca S-VHS, ma a questo punto non mi pare il caso di andare a comprarmi cavi e adattatori costosi per nulla.
- software: usando un software migliore/più recente (WinDVR che era incluso con la scheda è versione 1.8... ora c'è in giro la 3.0) potrei risolvere la situazione? Che software?

io utilizzo il videoregistratore collegato a una vecchia Hauppauge WinTv e rippo le vhs 352x288 con la compressione real-time in XVID all'85% di qualità... che dire.. full screen sulla tv si vedono ottimamente!

che hd hai? e' un fattore fondamentale...

se ti interessa ho visto questo progetto, che promette di comprimere in realtime in divx a qualita' full PAL anche solo con un athlon 1200:

cmq puoi anche acquisire con un codec piu' leggero (io uso huffyuv) e poi ricomprimere.

Ma è per Linux... a proposito: come se la cava Linux con processi run-time? Meglio di Winzozz? Funzionerà la scheda tv sotto Linux? (..controllerò..)
Sinceramente 352x288 non mi soddisfa... mi allontano dal monitor, scuoto la testa, mi allontano ancora un po'... mah: non mi convince.
Potrei provare a fare prima l'acquisizione e poi la compressione... ma devo vedere se il mio softwarino me lo permette... (cioè: in che formato devo registrare? ...scusate, ma non mi intendo molto di video..)
A proposito: e se poi da questi .mpg voglio farci un dvd-r? Come funziona la faccenda?
