 [Linux] Mozilla + KDE

Ho installato la verione 1.3a di Mozilla sulla RedHat 8.0 all'interno di /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3.0.
La mia domanda ora è: la cartella /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.1 con il "vecchio" browser la posso cancellare? come linko la nuova versione nella kde?

spero di essere stato chiaro...

1) tar zxvf moz*.tar.gz
2) ./install
mi pare di avere fatto cosi e seguito poi le shermate dell'interfaccia grafica per le opzioni di installazione

Ah. Ecco perche' sconsiglio i tar sotto rh... Almeno nel caso di applicativi che sono disponibili anche sotto forma di rpm, o (meglio) srpm...

Cmq, visto che e' un tar, disinstalla la versione precedente (con rpm, altrimenti sono cazzi).

Per i riferimenti da kde, non saprei che dirti... kde non lo uso, quindi non ti so' dire dove sono le impostazioni di menu e/o desktop...

Se usi il tarballone di mozilla.org ti conviene installare tutto in /usr/local/ , cosi' non interferisce con eventuali rpm.

Hai installato anche gnome???

cmq puoi tenere mozilla vecchio [a meno che nn ti serva spazio/nn faccia casino]

In linea di massima anche se cancelli la directory di mozilla-vecchio nn dovrebbero succedere casini [l'unica cosa magari dopo ti rendi conto che qualche altro programma nn va]

Su kde, puoi agire in due modi:
1. inserisci la voce nel menu [winzozz style]
2. crei un icona sul desktop e ci linky mozilla.

2. [metodo più veloce]
clicchi con il destro sul D. --> crea link to app
clicchi sull'icona che ti è apparsa --> proprietà --> ti sposti sui vari menu a tendina...e lo saprai fare da solo :-)
