 Lento!!
Questa mattina ho guardato la posta...e avevo notato che internet andava piano piano....
Ora ho notato la stessa lentezza....eppure con FW dovrebbe essere veloce....insomma, normale come gli altri giorni...
Leggo poco fa il Corriere online e vedo questo articolo
"WASHINGTON - La rete Internet mondiale è stata rallentata oggi per colpa di un virus che ha attaccato numerosi sistemi. La paralisi parziale di Internet e' stata simile - dicono gli esperti - a quella dell'estate 2001 quando il virus 'Code Red' causo' un vasto rallentamento del Web. Il virus responsabile del problema odierno (cominciato verso le 6.30 italiane) sfrutterebbe una vulnerabilita' di un popolare database della Microsoft, 'SQL Server 2000', per attaccare i computer. Almeno 22 mila sistemi sono stati colpiti dal virus in tutto il mondo e sul fenomeno sta indagando l'Fbi. (Agr) "
possibile che la lentezza sia davvero dovuta a questo virus???

Non e' un virus. E' un worm. Sfrutta una vulnerabilita' di MSQL, di cui si e' a conoscenza da giugno del 2002. Il worm si propaga tramite pacchetti UDP lunghi 376 bytes sulla porta ms-sql-m (1434).
E' consigliabile, se si ha un router, droppare tutti i pacchetti UDP diretti alla porta 1434.
Il rallentamento di internet dovrebbe essere dovuto al fatto che 5 dei 13 root dns sono gia' stati fatti crashare dal worm...

Non proprio. Sono due cose distinte, che funzionano in modo differente.
Un virus "infetta" altri programmi, un worm no. Entrambi si diffondono o via rete, o via floppy/cd/dvd/memoria_di_massa_rimovibile ... Un worm non ha alcun bisogno di un programma "ospite"...
Un trojan invece si "cammuffa" da programma innocuo e nel frattempo fa' tutt'altro. E non si replica ne si diffonde.
Ovviamente, se proprio vogliamo, tutti e tre i tipi possono generalmente essere definiti virus, ma esistono delle precise differenze...

Ecco svelato l'arcano: ieri pomeriggio e parte della sera quasi tutti i siti a cui volevo collegarmi risultavano non esistenti, ma se provavo una decina di volte a collegarmi alla fine ci riuscivo.
Pensavo fosse un problema solo di FW...Lightman, ne sai sempre 1 piú del diavolo (lo zio Bill, si intende! )!
