[WinXp] Formattare in FAT32

Come faccio a formattare una partizione in FAT32 usando WindowsXp?

se non te la fa formattare in fat32 durante l'installazione, ti suggerisco di usare il comando convert a installazione avvenuta. Per maggiori informazioni guarda su google o sull'help della shell dos.

Curiosità: come mai vuoi formattare in fat? IMO perdi in prestazioni

magari usa FAT per una maggiore compatibilità con linux

io ho lasciato una sola partizione per win ed è fat32, non mi fido ancora del supporto in scrittura per ntfs


Hamelin devi formattare una partizione dove c'è già windows (quindi rifai l'installazione) o è una partizione secondaria e quindi vedi l'icona del disco in esplora risorse?

Veramente ci guadagna in prestazioni, ma ci perde in opzioni
Fonte la stessa microsoft: xp su partizione fat32 è più veloce ma perde in sicurezza (non hai i permessi ntfs)

Cmq come già detto, pulsante destro sull'unità e seleziona "formatta"; se il disco è nuovo basta andare in pannello di controllo\gestione computer\gestione disco e da lì si sceglie il file system.

Ah convert converte solo da FAT a NTFS non il contrario!!

è vero la FAT in teoria ha prestazioni migliori, però direi che NTFS è quasi sempre la scelta migliore. l'unico problema può essere dato da linux appunto

se non avessi il dual boot metterei NTFS senza nemmeno pensarci

E, per esempio, non può creare/spostare file più grandi di 2 GB, che potrebbero sembrare tanti, ma nell'era dei DVD/DivX forse no...

No, no... è una partizione in cui non c'è installato nessun sistema... solo per i dati da condividere tra xp e linux...

Ora provo a risolvere. Grazie!

PS: Ah! FAT32 supporta file fino a 4GB... che è poco comunque!

Ne aprofitto per porre un quesito io:

Aveva installato la Slack 10 ma ho deciso di passare alla fedora, per semplicità.

Metto il cd di fedora, seleziono utilizzare le due partizioni di linux precedenti (formattandole) ma non mi fa partire l'installazione :\ dice che non c'è abbastanza spazio sulla partizione E' ovviamente impossibile visto che è di 4giga!!!
