 Register file.. flip flop o latch?

non ho ben capito, in un register file è meglio usare dei flip-flop o dei latch? sulle slide di borghese si fa riferimento ai latch, ma in giro leggo solo che è meglio usare dei flip-flop. qualcuno mi chiarisce questa cosa? grazie
