con il dataway usb, ma piu che altro ne ubuntu, nè kubuntu, nè mandrivia che ho installato avevano i comandi base install, make install e molti altri, nn sapevo che fare allora ho rimesso il WC

apt-get install gmake ?
Molte distribuzioni non hanno i tool di sviluppo (da gcc al make) installati di default, ma basta installarli in seguito

con ubuntu basta fare

sudo apt-get install build-essential [o qualcosa di sime cmq fai un apt-cache search ....]

dopo avrai installato tutti i tool più comuni
