semplicemente gli intervalli tra i valori che il segnale può assumere nn sono uguali tra loro; la scelta si fa in base anche alla probabilità che il segnale cada in un certo intervallo.

Se ad esempio per un quantizzatore uniforme potrei avere valori [-10 -5 0 5 10] magari per uno nn uniforme sarebbe [-9 -6 0 6 9]

te l'ho detto in italiano....

Allora, per il quantizzatore hai:

Q(x)=argmin |x-xi| dove

xi appartiene all'insieme [x1, x2, x3, x4, ..., xn]

ora, se il quantizzatore è uniforme hai che gli intervalli tra tutti gli xi sono uguali, ad esempio [2, 4 ,6, 8] cioè sono tutti distaccati di 2...

per un quantizzatore nn uniforme potresti avere [2, 6, 7, 8], ossia a parità di numero di valori che puo assuemere le funzione gli intervalli sono diversi.

in italiano:

La voce ha le armoniche + importanti nelle frequenze basse percui è necessario acquisire il maggior numero di queste armoniche..per far questo si puo usare un quantizzatore non uniforme che è più preciso per le frequenze basse e meno preciso per quelle più alte..

Per precisione intendo la granularità...
