 [LINUX]che distro consigliate?

Devo usare Eclipse sotto Linux.

Per uno che non hai mai usato questo sistema operativo cosa consigliate? Qualcosa di facile e intuitivo giusto per poter farci girare Eclipse!

Questa distribuzione è da installare o basta inserire il cd e viaggia così? Te lo chiedo perchè a java usavamo ubuntu ma bisognava solo inserire il cd... qui come è...?
Come si può condividere 2 sistemi operativi?

Per installarlo mi hanno detto che devo creare una partizione a parte solo per linux. Non avendo molto spazio, quanto è lo spazio minimo che richiede e che giri senza tanti scazzi...

direi che con 4 o 5 giga dovresti stare tranquillo prevedendo anche che tu voglia aggiungere del software successivamente..

poi però bisogna riservare spazio per la swap partition ( convenzionalmente il doppio della ram che hai sul p.c. )

Quindi dato che ho 512 Mb di Ram può bastare 5 Gb, considerando che devo installargli solo eclipse?

5 Gb sono + che sufficienti per quello che devi fare.

Tieni presente che, escluso lo swap, linux occupa meno di 3 Gb.
