Ciao, avrei bisogno qualche consiglio.
Ho appena comprato un portatile, con installato Windows XP.
Per il progetto di tesi devo installare Fedora Core3.
Ho scaricato la ISO per DVD, l'ho masterizzata e ho inserito il DVD nel lettore del portatile. Si è avviato correttamente, mi ha fatto selezionare la tastiera, ma quando mi chiede di selezionare il dispositivo che contiene i pacchetti da installare, se seleziono "CD-ROM locale" mi dice che "il CD Fedora Core non è stato trovato in nessuna unità CD-ROM"...

Ma come, non la sta già utilizzando??

Qualcuno può darmi qualche dritta?

Per installare linux da DVD c'è bisogno di una procedura particolare? (è la prima volta che non uso i CD).
O basta il DVD con la iso?

visto che CD-ROM locale non funziona quali sono le altre alternative che ti mette a disposizione?
cmq è molto strano x' tutti i programmi di installazione di linux ti trovano automaticamente il device da boot!?!

probabile...ti consiglio di verificare l'hash code!
il programma per controllarlo è md5sum(dovrebbe essere presente su tutte le distro linux) mentre x windows puoi scaricarlo cercandolo da qualsiasi motore di ricerca!
cmq mi risulta molto strano....!

Eccomi di nuovo qui, sempre con lo stesso problema!!
Mi sono accorto solo ora che sul sito della fedora è possibile scaricare 2 differenti iso per DVD per la Core3.

Cito dal sito (http://fedora.redhat.com/download/):

Ora non ricordo qualche ho scaricato io, ma è possibile che fosse quella sbagliata?
Io ho un Intel Centrino da 1,6 Ghz, qual'è l'immagine corretta? quella a 32 o 64 bit?

Dato che devo proprio installare la fedora, avevo pensato di scaricare le iso per CD, ma anche per quelle avrei la stessa scelta...
