 Compitino prolog

Ciao ragazzi.Volevo chiedervi una cosa sullo svolgimento degli esercizi di prolog che non mi è chiara.

Quando svolgiamo gli esercizi,i rami degli alberi che portano a fallimenti li dobbiamo svolgere lo stesso anche se è evidente ad occhio che portano ad un fallimento oppure possiamo fare il backrtacking solo per gli alberi che sappiamo (o crediamo) che portano ad una soluzione del quesito?
