[LINUX] come si configura Apache?

..mi raccomado se avete qualche trucchetto svelatemelo!

P.S.
sapete come si chiam il modulo per permettere ad apahe di "decifrare" anche le JAva Servlet e le pagine JSP?

Erm, alla faccia della domanda banale...

Primo, apache 1.2.x o 2.x ?
Secondo, cosa dovrebbe fare il tuo server ? Esempio, devi gestire server virtuali ? Ti serve SSL ? Ti serve il supporto per php ? mod_auth ? Altro ?

credo che abbia apache 2.x, in quanto usa red hat 8.0

scaricati il modulo di apache, e se nn sai configurare httpd a mano usa apacheconf, con interfaccia grafica

nn dovresti avere molti problemi...

altrimenti se fai servizio hosting come fai a fornire + servizi, tipo php, asp, jsp, mysql, access... ecc..?

nn puoi mica usare un server per ognuno...

cioè, nn è che nn puoi, ma saresti un matto da legare se nn hai molti clienti

per php ti basta installare il relativo rpm,per java:

per esperienza so che per usare tomcat devi spegnere apache anche se sono su due porte diverse... nn ho mai capito come mai

però se installi il modulo per jsp di apache dovrebbe funzionare...

Dunque, Tomcat può lavorare come server standalone per servire jsp e servlet oppure può interfacciarsi con apache tramite un connector. Il più utilizzato è il mod_jk (mod_jk.so) che pui caricare dinamicamente all'avvio di apache con un normale DSO. Ovviamente va compilato e configurato a dovere!
