Question [WinXp] Problemi vari (era: Aiuto!!!)

Dopo anni di win98 ho installato oggi winXp (lo so: era ora!)... tutto perfetto, tranne... la cosa più importante: la connessione internette. Dopo l'installazione di modem e software Alice, winXp non mi permette di aprire l'applicazione Alice Enternet Folder, adducendo la seguente scusa:

Impossibile caricare la finestra di dialogo.

Errore 623: Impossibile trovare la voce della Rubrica telefonica per questa connessione.

Che significa? Di che rubrica telefonica parla?? HELP!!!!!

Ok... risolto il problema...

Ora... ho un sistema operativo che mi funziona benissimo non connesso a Internet...

Una volta stabilita la prima connessione... disastro! Dopo qualche decina di secondi (stavo attivando il profile MSN .NET), mi si è aperto un popup con un indirizzo ignoto e, da quel momento, la navigazione non mi è più permessa... qualsiasi sito cerchi di visitare, ottengo sempre la schermata di errore!

Ogni volta che riavvio il sistema, riesco a navigare per quel minutino scarso e poi mi riappare il solito popup e i solito problemi vengono fuori.

Allora ho installato Firewall, Anti-Spyware e Anti-Virus. I primi due non mi hanno dato alcuna soddisfazione (Sygate e Spybot). Dopo l'installazione di Avast! Antivirus, la scansione del sistema mi ha trovato un file infetto che aveva un nome (che non ricordo) adatto alle circostanze. L'ho eliminato... Da quel momento, durante il primo minuto di connessione, l'antivirus mi segnala una decina di tentativi di infezione da parte di un unico (o quasi: talvolta cambia) IP, fino a quando - senza che si apra il popup - mi si presentano i soliti problemi e quindi non posso più navigare...

Soluzioni?

É possibile eliminare in qualche modo i fumetti che winXp continua a vomitare dalla barra degli strumenti?
