Siccome devo fare un sito per dei miei amici che costruiscono ampli per chitarra handmade (molto fichi, ne ho provato uno), avrei una domanda a chi ha una discreta esperienza di web design:

Usate le tecniche di browser sniffing per individuare la versione del browser dell'utente (soprattutto per individuare vecchie versioni non compatibili appieno con i CSS ed xhtml)? Se sì, quali tecniche preferite? Ho visto che ce ne sono diverse... oppure lasciate semplicemente perdere (opzione cmq di tutto rispetto)?

Lascio semplicemente perdere. Controllo solo che si veda uniformemente con IE, Firefox e Opera... mi sembra già abbastanza.

ah, ok... in effetti una scuola di pensiero è proprio quella di lasciare perdere, dato che statistiche alla mano gli utenti con browser obsoleti sono cmq in minoranza.

mi piaccerebbe cmq vedere se c'è invece qualche propugnatore di tali tecniche, qui in dsy...

Odio gli hack e gli smanacciamenti vari, preferisco cercare di trovare un compromesso che renda il sito ben visibile sui browser che ha citato ripe e se proprio qualcuno con un browser così vecchio dovesse capitare sul sito, può comunque usufruire dei contenuti in modalità "solo testo".

come vedete il sito è 'na munnezza, per questo dovrò rifarglielo...

Gli ampli però sono fichi, non avranno duemila canali e non faranno il caffè come quelli odierni hi-tech ma sono costruiti con ottimi componenti e suonano molto bene... il tipo che li fà è un mio amico appassionato di marshall vintage, tra gli altri.

Io provai tempo fà l'MK50 ed un prototipo che doveva essere l'HR50 penso e spaccavano...

in cantiere c'è anche un hi-gain ispirato ai soldano!

Già, infatti dovrei tra le altre cose rifare le foto e registrare qualche sample da mettere sul sito... suoni registrati che io sappia per il momento non ce ne sono.
Il fatto è che dato che io sono in tesi e loro hanno pure i loro sbattimenti non so quando andrà a finire la costruzione del nuovo sito (da farsi nei ritagli di tempo)... se proprio vuoi sentirli puoi anche sentire loro metterti d'accordo e passare per quel di Merate!
