Sto cercando di installare Gentoo dal live cd, ma ho qualche problema:

il mio fstab è cosi dove invece che BOOT, SWAP, ROOT ci sono le partizioni sda1 (ext2), sda2 ed sda3 (raiserfs)

qualcuno sa spiegarmi l'errore della prima immagine?

Un paio di cosette: nell'fstab ha scritto che sda3 e' reiserfs, vero? Secondariamente, hai compilato il reiserfs nel kernel?

Fra l'altro mi pare di capire che i tuoi dischi sono SCSI: i driver li hai compilati nel kernel o come moduli?

se il supporto scsi o piu' semplicmente SATA e' modulare devi crearti l'initrd se no non bootera' mai, oppure mettere il SATA e lo scsi nel kernel.
Inoltre, controlla nel grub di avere una cosa tipo questa:
root (hd1,0)
kernel /2.6.5/bzImage

Sono quasi certo allora che ce li hai compilati come modulo.

(potresti verificarlo con un bel cat /usr/src/linux-xxx/.config | grep -i scsi oppure con cat /usr/src/linux-xxx/.config | grep -i sata)

Mi sa che devi creare l'initrd.

mkinitrd -o /boot/initrd.img.2.6.x 2.6.x, dove 2.6.x e' il kernel di cui vuoi creare l'initrd. Dopodiche' dici al grub di usare quell'initrd:

title           Linux 2.6.X
root           (hd0,0)
kernel        /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.X
initrd         /boot/initrd.img-2.6.X
