Back-up sistema in linux

Ciao a tutti qualcuno sa come si può eseguire il back-up dell'intero sistema sotto linux (domanda d'esame per la prova pratica)

Ps.Io ho trovato in comando ln che a quanto pare può effettuare un backup creando dei link in una determinata directory, (almeno cosi mi è parso di capire dalla sua man page)

A me aveva chiesto solo una cosa tipo:
Scrivere uno script che "non ricordo cosa doveva fare" e venga eseguito ogni domenica sera alle 11:00

Ti lascia un po' di tempo poi viene a vedere cosa hai scritto e magari ti fa una domandina, per esempio a me aveva chiesto in cosa differisce lanciare il crontab con vi /etc/crontab oppure con l'opzione -e

Il problema più grosso era l'impostazione della tastiera...
