modem USB su SuSe

ho installato SuSe PE 9.1 e... magia! mi vede il modem USB!!! il problema è che me lo vede, lo configuro e tutto ma poi non funziona... dà un'errore tipo 'modem non presente o qualcosa del genere'...

qualcuno saprebbe aiutarmi? cioè, non ho mai sperato che un USB funzionasse sotto linux, ma questo me lo vede me lo riconosce e quindi caxxo ci sarà un modo per farlo funzionare!!!!
