802.11b...a quanto va?

oggi un un negozio ho trovato una scheda WLAN 802.11b a 22Mb
ma gli standard delle slides di olivieri non dicono che le "velocità" supoprtate sono di 5.5 e 11 Mb?

Non e' che e' una 802.11a tarocca??

Nella figura della slide 73 del livello fisico di 802.11 si vede che in un certo raggio 802.11a arriva a 24 mbps...

il b e' 11Mbps, ma con alcuni stratagemmi alcune case propongono schede che vanno a 22Mbps (dlink per esempio).
Tuttavia per poter sfruttare su tutta la rete i 22Mbps tutte le schede WI-FI devono essere a 22Mbps, incluso eventuali access point.

fatemi capire, allora io ho un PC collegato ad internet e voglio condividere la connettivita' tra altri pc...con tre schede di rete wireless non ho problemi o ho bisogno sempre di un acces point?

cdmp ormai è diventato Indiana Jones, porta alla luce thread "antichi"

per stare in tema, io ho una scheda 802.11b+ (della US Robotics) e in effetti il guadagno in termini di velocità c'è!
naturalmente i 22Mbps te li scordi però facendo delle prove con una 802.11b e con un'altra 802.11b+ la differenza era notevole, almeno un 50% di velocità in più se ben ricordo

Mi piacerebbe capire esattamente come ce li fanno stare 22Mbps! Se ci stanno perchè non includerli nello standard?

a quanto pare la differenza sarebbe data da questa codifica PBCC

Certo che si puo' solo con le schede devi configurare la modalita' ad hoc, cioe' solo dispositivi wireless
