Forse molto più avanti perchè come sono i processori della Intel adesso bisognerebbe riscrivere in modo più semplice OS X che diventerebbe obsoleto rispetto agli altri sistemi operativi...

beh, se questo abbasserà i prezzi come sembra che sia l'intenzione, ben venga!!!
resta da capire (se è vero, ovviamente) se si appoggierà su processori già esistenti o su di una linea creata su misura... non credo che Jobs permetterà mai di costruirsi mac assemblati come avviene per i pc.
cmq per ora i processori ppc sono ottimi, anche se non si è ancora visto un G5 montato su un portatile (credo che si cominci a sentirne la mancanza...)

Oltre a tutto cio che giustamenti dici,ma secondo me mi pare surreale un passaggio a x86,a meno che Intel non produca un nuovo chip ppc ma anche qui la vedo molto surreale come ipotesi!
E poi la storia dei prezzi non e che mi convinca molto,in fin dei conti se ti compri un pc top class,con il processore Intel top della gamma quanto vai a spendere?Credo pure di piu di un powermac!

beh, sì, in effetti è uno scenario tutt'altro che semplice da immaginare... è anche vero che certe workstation dual processor x86 con prestazioni paragonabili ai power mac dual G5 costano anche di più... però dato che questa notizia, se vera, riguarderebbe cmq il futuro, non si possono più di tanto fare previsioni con quello che c'è in giro adesso. magari intel produrrà proprio un processore dedicato agli apple, che costerà meno e che sarà disponibile in quantità immani per il mercato di massa (ho sentito che IBM ha non poche difficoltà a consegnare i ppc che le vengono richiesti...).

prima stavo pensando ad una cosa: e se fosse il primo passo verso l'ipotesi di fare concorrenza a Microsoft per quanto riguarda il sistema operativo?
un Mac con processore Intel (ammesso che siano x86) vorrebbe dire possibilità di adattare il SO alle macchine x86 compatibili, diffusissime in tutto il mondo
pensate alla possibilità di mettere OS X sulle macchine che abbiamo a casa e sui notebook

A quanto pare tutto ciò è realtà: se andate qui http://www.macitynet.it/keynote/ trovate la "web-cronaca" del Keynote di Jobs.
Vi quoto un passo significativo:
Jobs dimostra un PC con processore X86, un Pentium 4 da 3.2 Ghz che fa girare Mac OS X 10.4 con i Widget esistenti che girano perfettamente in maniera nativa (grazie a Java e HTML).
Il software con interfaccia Cocoa puo' essere "portato" facilmente sulla nuova piattaforma.

beh, di sicuro costerà meno... forse.

A sentire steve jobs non dovrebbe cambiare niente,per cio che viene proposto agli utenti,solo ci sara un pentium in luogo degli attuali ibm,a quanto pare la scelta di questa patnership e dovuto al fatto che Intel offre piu garanzie a lungo termine di IBM(ed a ragione,aggiungo),mac os dovrebbe girare solo sui mac,e garantire l'esclusivita,come fatto finora,dell'accoppiata hw-sw...anche se secondo me questa e solo la punta dell'isberg,a mio modesto parere,Apple cerca di aumentare notevolmente la propria fetta di mercato,cosa che rigettava fino a poco fa...
Io mi sa che mi prendero un powerbook che durera un bel pezzo,per i pentium ci sara tempo in futuro!
